The reserve, which is one of the country’s largest, offers a paradise for fans of hiking, canoeing, climbing and cycling. It offers our participants the chance to discover a lesser known area of Germany, and makes a stunning backdrop for our programmes.

Transport included in your volunteering
Our free bus transfer transports participants between Munich and the venue near Eichstätt.
The journey is approximately one and a half hours.
Participants fly into Munich and are invited to a Welcome Reception the day before the program is set to begin.
The country hotel does not have any shops, so visitors should buy anything they are likely to need during the week before the program begins.
Weather in volunteer programs in Altmühtal
Average summer highs range from 21 to 23 degrees C. Summer lows average between 10 and 12 degrees C. November average highs of 6 degrees C with average lows of around freezing. Precipitation falls fairly evenly throughout the year. Snow possible November through March.

There are excellent options for short walks all around the hotel. It is a peaceful and picturesque setting, likely to appeal to anyone who would like to combine tranquillity and nature with the trip of cultural discovery that this program offers. This is a good venue for people who prefer to have their own private room; only in exceptional cases will people be asked to share.
